Watercolor painting of Polignano a Mare in Puglia, Italy.
“Volare oh, oh
Cantare oh, oh
Nel blu dipinto di blu
Felice di stare lassù”
If you’ve ever wondered where this iconic song comes from, this painting is the answer. The singer songwriter Domenico Modugno was inspired by the beauty of Polignano a Mare and started dreaming about flying. The song Volare was then born and a statue in his honor was build in the middle of a little square right here in Polignano.
